ScienMag covers RRC refugia work in California!
ScienMag recently published an article titled “California’s climate refugia: Mapping the stable places” highlighting a UC Davis and RRC study! The study, led by UC Davis’ James Thorne, was published in the June 2020 special issue of Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution. Several findings in the report can help managers in California decide which systems to prioritize in conservation - for example, “the northwest Klamath Mountains, northern Sierra Nevada and the Central Coast ranges contain large areas where existing vegetation types are expected to persist under both wetter and drier future climate conditions”.
